Alfie and Archie’s Dog Biscuits

2 1/2 c Whole wheat flour

1/2 c Powdered dry milk

1/2 t Salt

1/2 t Garlic powder

1 t Brown sugar

6 T Meat drippings

1 ea Beaten egg

1/2 c Ice water

Preheat oven to 350.
Lightly oil a cookie sheet.
Combine
flour,

dry milk, salt, garlic powder and sugar.
Cut in meat drippings
until mixture resembles corn meal.
Mix in egg.
Add enough water so
that mixture forms a ball.
Using your fingers, pat out dough onto
cookie sheet to half inch thick.
Cut with cookie cutter or knife
and remove scraps.
Scraps can be formed again and baked.

Bake
25-30 minutes.
Remove from tray and cool on rack.

Almond Butter Cookies

1/4 c Canola oil

1 c Almond butter

1/4 c Maple syrup

1/2 ts Pure vanilla extract

1 c Whole wheat pastry flour

-(Sifted before measuring) 1/4 ts Salt

Preheat oven to 300F.
Lightly grease a baking sheet (or use a
nonstick one).
Mix together almond butter and oil; beat until
smooth.
Mix in maple syrup and vanilla extract.
Stir together flour
and salt.
Add to almond butter mixture and mix until just combined.
Cover and refrigerate for 10 minutes.
Roll dough into 3/4-inch
balls.
Place on baking sheet and flatten with a fork.
Bake in
preheated oven for 25 minutes, until bottoms are lightly browned.
Cool a couple of minutes on the baking sheet, then transfer to a
cooling rack.
Eat.
Variation: try with other nut butters.
